Focus on Childcare

A childcare service can be any of the following:

  • preschool,
  • full day care,
  • afterschool,
  • childminders,
  • drop-in centre and
  • crèche.

A quality childcare service meets the families needs and the individual needs of the child such as physical, intellectual, emotional, social and language skills.

Training

Training has much to offer providers and the families they work with. Training is an opportunity for providers to share their many skills, ideas etc. with others. It also gives the providers an opportunity to learn new skills and gain further knowledge while building greater confidence and in so doing they provide an increasingly professional service.

Training available throughout the year includes:

  • First Aid
  • Keeping Safe
  • Food Safety
  • FETAC level 5/6
  • Cultural Awareness
