The National Early Years Access Initiative is a collaborative partnership between The Atlantic Philanthropies, the Mount Street Club Trustees, the Office of the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs (OMYCA), Early Years Education Policy Unit, (DES) and Pobal.

Fergus Finlay - Keynote Speaker at Upcoming Conference
Fergus Finlay, CE of Barnardos is the keynote speaker at Longford County Childcare Committee upcoming conference “Parenting in a recession”. This event will be held in the Longford Arms Hotel on Tuesday 7th September 2010 from 1-5pm.
Information on the day will be available from Parentline, MABS, Citizens Information Centre, HSE Community Welfare Office, Longford Westmeath Parenting Partnership and Longford Community Resources Ltd.

Triple P Parenting Programme Founder Speaking in Longford
Triple P – Prof. Matt Sanders Founder of Triple P Parenting Programme is coming to Longford on September 23rd to deliver a talk on the Triple P Programme. This event was originally planned for March this year, but was postponed due to travel restrictions imposed by the volcanic ash cloud.
The Longford Westmeath Parenting Partnership were successful in their application for funding to roll out the delivery of Triple P parenting courses to parents of children 0-8 years in the Longford-Westmeath area. Parents to Parents Meeting
Having a child with a disability or delayed development can be a frightening and lonely experience. Parents to Parents group is a support network for parents, which provides meetings every Tuesday from 10-11am in Harmony House, St. Michael’s Road, Longford. The aim of the group is to bring parents together that have children aged 0-5years with disabilities and delayed development regardless of their specific need, syndrome or disability. Parents support one another through meetings, sharing information and experiences in a relaxed and informal setting. Receptionist/Administrator (WPP2)
Area of activity in which placement is offered: Work placement in front of house office, working as a receptionist and giving administration support to staff.
Participants will gain experience in: First point of contact to the public and clients by phone and reception. Dealing with all correspondence both into and out of the office as necessary. Managing appointments for all staff. Compiling and maintaining files and general office duties.
Person specification: EDCL or equivalent, good communication skills. You must be registered with FÁS and have checked your eligibility before you apply for this Work Placement.
